This page is your guide to university-approved printed graphic identity standards for Stevens Institute of Technology. It contains a variety of helpful tools to assist you in using the Stevens logo, Duck mascot and Technogenesis® brand.

Guidelines

The Stevens official logo, Technogenesis branding, and Duck mascot may only be used pursuant to the guidelines in this document to identify Stevens Institute of Technology, or Stevens initiatives or services. Any use that falls outside what is outlined herein is strictly prohibited.

• The Stevens logo must be used as provided by the Stevens News Service, with no changes, including but not limited to changes in the color, or design, or removal of any words, artwork, or trademark symbols. The Logo may not be animated, morphed, or otherwise distorted in perspective or appearance. Proportional scaling of images is acceptable for appropriate use.
• The Logo must only appear in a horizontal position.
  
• The Logo must stand alone (or reasonably distinct from other images and logos) and may not be combined with any other object, including but not limited to other logos, words, graphics, photos, slogans, numbers, design features, or symbols.
• The Logo must never be used to represent the word "Stevens" or "Stevens Institute of Technology" in text, including in a headline, product-name logotype, or body copy.
  

Copyrighting and Registering

If practical, you should include a copyright claim and notification on any brochures or advertisements you produce - to protect your work. The formats chosen for this claim are universally recognized. Either format is acceptable:

The Technogenesis logo must always be accompanied by the registered trademark symbol "®" ithe first time it is used in any print or web document. It should always have a capital "T."

Formatting options:

JPGs hi-rez are for higher quality and larger image needs. This format can be scaled proportionally smaller, but not larger, as the image can be distorted. JPGs can also be converted to TIFF and GIF formats if necessary. We recommend Photoshop or Fireworks for the best results. JPGs can be used in Word, PowerPoint, FrontPage, Dreamweaver, Flash, and other similar applications. EPS image formats are scalable with the best results in Quark, Illustrator, and Freehand. We recommend EPS usage for any commercial press or vendor related work.

Instructions on downloading from this website:

• If you are using a Windows-based computer, position the mouse pointer over the image, click the right-hand mouse button, and choose 'Save Picture as . . .' from the menu that appears.
  
• If you are using a Macintosh, hold down the control key while clicking on the picture, release the control key, and choose 'Save this image as' from the menu that appears. This can also be done by positioning the mouse pointer over the picture, then clicking the mouse button and holding it down for a few seconds.

Saving images from this website:

• If you are using a Windows-based computer, choose 'Desktop' from the top of the 'Save in' pull-down menu in the 'Save as . . .' dialog box. Make note of the file name that appears in the 'File name' text box, and click the 'Save' button.
• If you are using a Macintosh, click the 'Desktop' button, make note of the file name that appears in the 'Save image as:' text box, and click the 'Save' button.
