CIESE launches new web site for science and math educators

HOBOKEN, N.J. — More and more, educators today are finding themselves facing new technology in their classrooms. With this new technology comes the need to have their students do more than search and surf for reference materials. They’re looking for a resource as well as tools.

The Center for Improved Engineering and Science Education at Stevens Institute of Technology is helping educators find what they looking for with the launch of their improved web site and new eddress at ciese.org.

The new web site for CIESE acts as a user-friendly interface for educators from all over the world. Through the site, students and educators in the United States will be able to connect with others around the world and, together, learn about science, mathematics and other technology via the Internet.

According to Beth McGrath, deputy director for CIESE, the web site includes better graphics and improved functionality and technical enhancements. Its organization will allow users to find and move around the provided resources better.

"The new CIESE web site will introduce educators to several new unique and compelling Internet applications, which go beyond simple research activities and tap into the true power that the technology holds as an educational tool," said Josh Baron, manager of Curriculum Development and Training for CIESE. "These applications range from communicating with experts from every field imaginable to the use of real time data from around the world and the depths of space."
