Stevens hosts international conference on 'Contemporary Views on Indian Civilization'

HOBOKEN, N.J. - The World Association for Vedic Studies (WAVES), in collaboration with the Foundation for Advancement of Arts and Sciences from India (ARSI), will hold its third biennial international conference on "Contemporary Views on Indian Civilization" July 28, 29 and 30, 2000, at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, N.J.

More than 100 renowned scholars from different parts of the world will attend this conference and present papers on various topics related to Indian civilization from antiquity to modern times. Stevens hosts conferences such as this as part of its commitment to broad-based education and involvement with the international community.

The conference is an opportunity for participants to learn more about Vedic studies and international culture.

WHAT: Conference on Contemporary Views on Indian Civilization

WHEN: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on three days: Fri., Sat., Sun., July 28-30

WHERE: General sessions: Bissinger Room, fourth floor, Wesley J. Howe Center, central campus, Stevens Institute of Technology (Note: The Howe Center is about one block east of 8th Street and Castle Point Terrace in Hoboken, N.J.)

REGISTER: $75 for individuals, $125 for two family members (w/$50 for each additional), $40 for students. Fees include lunch and dinner each day.
