Alumnus Richard J. Decker appointed CIO at McAfee, Inc.
HOBOKEN, N.J. — McAfee, Inc., an industry leader in Intrusion Prevention and Security Risk Management, today announced that Stevens Institute of Technology alumnus Richard J. Decker has been appointed to the position of Chief Information Officer.
In this role, Decker will be responsible for the worldwide management and implementation of the company’s information technology and infrastructure. Decker will report to Gene Hodges, president of McAfee.
Decker received Master of Science and Bachelor of Science degrees in Computer Science, both from the Stevens Institute of Technology.
“Richard brings experience building and managing global teams, as well as enhancing all the core systems, such as financials, CRM, support, manufacturing, and business intelligence,” said Hodges. “With his leadership, McAfee will continue to implement smart, integrated IT solutions that showcase the world's most effective security practices, designed to meet the needs of our partners and customers around the world.”
Decker joins McAfee from Mentor Graphics, an electronic design automation software company, where he held the CIO position for over seven years. Prior to that, Decker was the CIO for the Measurex business at Honeywell, a process control company, and Foster Farms, a consumer food products company, between 1994 and 1997. He also served six years as the vice president of MIS/CIO at Micropolis Corporation, a disk drive firm. Decker has also held senior level IT positions at Pepsi-Cola and Automatic Data Processing.
