Douglas Horr appointed Institute Auditor for Stevens Institute of Technology

HOBOKEN, N.J. — Vice President for Finance Stefano Falconi today announced the appointment of Douglas Horr as the new Institute Auditor for Stevens Institute of Technology effective September 1, 2005.

As the Institute Auditor, Horr will be responsible for special financial and operational audit services, monitoring compliance with tax, research, contract costing and other government regulations and assisting management in the establishment and maintenance of proper internal controls. He will also work closely with the external auditors.

Horr comes to Stevens from Rutgers University where he held the position of Senior Auditor for more than a decade, coordinating audit services and developing enhanced policies. During his service at Rutgers, he also spent more than three years as Senior Executive Assistant in the Office of the VP for Administration, where he coordinated the work of the office and managed a number of critical projects.

He obtained his bachelor’s degree in Public Affairs with majors in Public Finance and Policy Administration from Indiana University and holds a master’s degree in Education Administration with a Specialization in Higher Education from Rutgers. He has also completed substantial work towards his doctorate in Education Administration at Rutgers.

Horr is a member of the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO) and the Association of College & University Auditors (ACUA) where he has served as a Task Force chair as well as a committee member.
