Stevens alumnus Joseph Pucciarelli joins IDC

Pucciarelli will serve as research director in the pricing and leasing evaluation practice

HOBOKEN , N.J. — Joseph Pucciarelli, who holds a bachelor’s degree with honors in systems planning and management from Stevens Institute of Technology, has joined joins IDC’s Pricing and Leasing Evaluation Services as a research director. He previously served as publisher of ComplianceOfficerForum.com, a best practices research and advisory forum for compliance officers and their IT suppliers. The site offered a medium for ideas and research to help regulators, vendors and financial services organizations achieve the legislative goals embedded within the USA PATRIOT Act. He was also founder of Strategance.

“Joe’s in-depth understanding of the IT equipment and financing markets, from both the vendor and end-user perspectives, will be instrumental in helping us provide IT product and financing analysis, pricing and residual forecasts and decision analysis tools for our broad portfolio of clients,” said Brian Clarke, vice president of Pricing and Leasing Evaluation Services at IDC. “He brings a unique perspective on IT product and financing strategies, software and services contracting, and IT asset management.”

In his new role, Pucciarelli will provide research-based advisory and consulting services for executives from the financing industry, equipment manufacturers and end users by helping them maximize business value and drive technology-enabled business innovation. He will focus on the unique challenges created by networking and communications infrastructure equipment.

Previously, Pucciarelli was a vice president and research director with Gartner, Inc., where he led research teams focusing on IT asset management, leasing and financial practices. His research on IT security and the U.S. financial system prompted a Congressional hearing before which he was called to testify. Prior to Gartner, Pucciarelli worked with Peregrine Systems, Inc., in many leadership positions. Additionally, he worked with GE Capital in the financial services industry for 15 years, where he was involved in providing outsourced captive leasing services for companies in the IT equipment, software, medical equipment and automobile industries, among others.
